What is an SAS Healthcare Agent?

SAS Healthcare Agents (HCAs) are qualified to serve as our clients’ primary decision maker under their Advance Health Care Directive. HCAs are available 24/7 in the event clients’ have a medical emergency, and their SAS Healthcare Agent is required to speak on their behalf.

In-Home Assessment

Your HCA will communicate with you physicians and medical team, asking the right questions and requesting consultations when necessary. 

Accompanied Doctors’ Visits

Your HCA will have complete knowledge of your updated health status and medical history. This will be accomplished through your initial in-home assessment, regular updates, and annual attendance at one physician’s visit.

Continuing Support

Your HCA will be ready to provide your medical team with your Advance Healthcare Directive. HCAs will also have updated records of your medications and conduct an ongoing in-home visit once per year. This knowledge, along with their deep understanding of your wishes, will allow them act as your healthcare surrogate or proxy, ensuring your healthcare decisions are upheld.

Community Resources & Assistance

Your HCA will have full knowledge of your healthcare wishes and be ready 24/7 to ensure they are upheld, should the need arise. Your HCA will discuss treatment options with your medical team and select the best care for your medical needs.
